20 years

i got a call yesterday from someone who wants to do an interview with me for the special features of the 20th, yes 20th, anniversary of the summer school release.

initially i said yes, but the more i think about it, the less i want to do it. the people who would be interested in anything i have to say about the movie have found me online and i answer the same questions anyway.

the people who don’t care, would just notice that i didn’t have the career that harmon, kirstie alley, courtney t. smith and patrick labyorteaux have had.

when i see dvd special features with people like me… “gee i wonder why he never…” it bums me out. perhaps because it makes me think of me. hmm.

i guess my ego is too big to do the special feature interview.

maybe i’ll just write up a summer school faq and put it up on the site.

a friend suggested that i demand that they shoot me as if i was in witness protection. silhouetted… voice lowered three octaves. that might be a good way to do it…

hmmm..

i’ve heard nothing from the lady with the dog. amazing how that ruined me for a couple of days.
when people are irrational it bums me out and it also bums me out to think that there are people out there who i see at the dog park who will look at me as the guy who kicked the dog.

should’ve kicked her.

also read for a super low budget movie yesterday where the director was born the year summer school was shot. actually got the call from the guy waiting for the audition.

glamorous. very fucking glamorous.

    “… lady with the dog”.

    She wasn’t a lady.

Man, I know what you mean about saying you’ll do it and then later thinking about it and going fuck i don’t want to do this.. one of my best friend’s just went through that with doing a interview for the 10th anniversary of Cannibal the Musical… he went through the exact same thing your going through… I think the witness protection program thing would be awesome to see..although you could go with the whole construction worker thing.. cuz when i see E! True Hollywood Stories on certain movies or tv shows most of the guys end up being construction workers or gay and you’ve told us about the gay already…. people are going to buy the dvd regardless.. i’ll be picking mine up at the paramount store.. but just go with it dude, i mean people recognize you from that movie, if you do the interview in a fun way then..a. you can have fun with it and just get all the questions over with and answered… b. then people who are bugging you about the movie and asking questions, you can answer them with, “Guys, go buy the dvd”…. shit i’ve had too many starbuck espresso beans today.. i’m all over the place=)
    hahaha

Ah Dean I think it would be great to talk on the special features edition on the DVD. Sure, you haven’t had as successful a career as the other people, but you’re still fabulous & a wonderful human being who is way more talented than all of them.

Plus, its still exposure & it triggers people to remember o yea now I know why I loved the guy so much. People remember you the most for that role & even just doing it for posterity would be great.

Much more interesting than just a drab faq on a website. U da man Dean! Keep you beautiful chin up high and show em what you’re made of.
