signing

when you start the buying a house process, everyone tells you about the amount of papers you have to sign.

they’re not kidding.

the escrow lady did a smart thing, though; she put the ginormous stack papers on top of another ginormous stack of papers. so as we were finishing up, i thought we were only halfway through.

genius!!

You’re right about the paperwork. It is crazy insane. I have no idea what the hell I signed when I bought my house. I just kept marking, initialing & signing for days.

They could have snuck the old sell your soul to the devil contract & I’m certain I would have signed that away too.

I remember at the end I just wanted to finish & get the hell out of the stuffy office. My head was hurting & my eyes where big time glazed over.

In the 5 years I’ve lived at my place I honestly haven’t had a need to ever look at the stuff ever again. It’s just a big stack o papers hidden in a drawer.
